The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) has a northern face leading the province's most influential civic lobby group with Thunder Bay Mayor Ken Boshcoff elected as its new president.

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) has a northern face leading the province's most influential civic lobby group with Thunder Bay Mayor Ken Boshcoff elected as its new president.

Boshcoff, an AMO board member for the past four years, was elected to a two-year term during the association's annual meeting at Toronto's Royal York Hotel in August.

The last northerner elected president was former Geraldton mayor Michael Power in the late 1990s.
