Abitibi-Consolidated’s Kenora mill will be shut down during May for inventory adjustment. All but a handful of workers will be laid off for the month. Mill officials say they do not plan to take advantage of the downtime for capital projects or major maintenance and repairs. The mill is expected to operate in June and July without downtime.
