Workplace Safety North (WSN) has appointed Paul Andre as acting president and CEO, effective July 1.

Andre has served as WSN’s vice-president of prevention services since 2010. He is a former CEO and field services manager of the Pulp and Paper Health and Safety Association with more than 25 years of experience in Ontario’s prevention system.

He additionally volunteers as chair of the board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.

“A change of leadership brings new energy and possibilities for any organization and the team that supports it,” said Dwight Harper, chair of the WSN board, in a release.

“Paul will lead WSN in building on its successes and executing a transformative strategic plan designed to bring every worker home safe and healthy. “

Andre replaces Candys Ballanger-Michaud, who has been with Workplace Safety North since 2010.

WSN provides health and safety services, training and resources for the mining, mine rescue and forestry products sectors.
