The accomplishments of women from across Northern Ontario will be celebrated this month during the 2018 Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards (IW).
Now in its 21st year, the IW Awards profile and honour women in Northern Ontario who have made a difference in their communities, generating economic wealth, creating jobs and furthering growth.
Twelve women in six categories will be recognized, along with one student winner of the Union Gas Essay Scholarship, which comes with a $2,000 prize.
Categories include:
- Executive of the Year
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year
- Aboriginal Leadership
- Influential Community Trailblazer
- Tradeswoman of the Year
Winners from northeastern Ontario will be celebrated on Monday, May 28 at the Steelworks Union Hall in Sudbury.
Winners from northwestern Ontario will be celebrated on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre in Thunder Bay.
