The City of Greater Sudbury is one of four communities in Ontario selected to host the 2002 Ontario Global Traders Awards regional ceremonies.

Minister of Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation Jim Flaherty announced last week that Hamilton, London, Ottawa and Sudbury would host the regional ceremonies, which recognize the achievements of Ontario’s top exporters in 2002.

“These awards reflect the excellence of innovators in every region of the province,” says Flaherty. “There are a lot of success stories waiting to be told, and I strongly encourage members of Ontario’s export community to get involved in our program, wherever they are located.”

The regional ceremony in Sudbury will be held on April 17, 2003, while the provincial awards will be presented in Toronto on May 14, 2003. Nominations for the program close on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002. Companies or individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by a trade association, customer or anyone familiar with their accomplishments. The Ontario Global Traders Awards are sponsored by Ontario Exports Inc. (OEI), its lead sponsor, RBC Global Services, and OEI’s Partners in Trade. Ontario Exports Inc. is the government of Ontario’s lead trade agency.
