IRegained, cofounded by Vineet Johnson, was the judges' choice winner of NORCAT'S 2019 PITCH competition.

Sudbury’s innovation centre, NORCAT, is now accepting applicants for its 2021 business pitch competition.

Sudbury PITCH 2021: The Virtual Competition is open to early-stage entrepreneurial startups seeking investors to back their business idea. The event takes place on May 13.

During the competition, successful applicants will pitch their idea to a panel of venture capital judges and prospective angel investors looking for an investment opportunity.

The contest is open to ventures that are connected to the Greater Sudbury entrepreneurial ecosystem that are looking to raise equity seed capital, and they can operate in any industry.

Those who are selected will receive coaching and guidance from NORCAT mentors and engage with representatives from the Northern Ontario Angels.

Past PITCH winners include StaffStat, which developed scheduling software for health-care staff (2014), and IRegained, a physiotherapy device used to help patients recover from stroke (2019).

The deadline for applications is March 5.
