Sudbury will host the North America Mining Expo (NAME) Sept. 12-13.
The two-day event, presented by Canadian Trade-Ex, will take place at the Centennial Arena, in the Sudbury community of Hanmer.
On Sept. 12, a sustainability conference will include presentations on topics such as Canada’s minerals and metals plan; insight from representatives from Vale, Artisan and Epiroc speaking about the use of electric machinery; and an overview from Ecompliance addressing health and safety.
A gala dinner will be held that evening, featuring speakers Helen Francis, program leader for digital mine transformation at Vale; Harry Barr, CEO of New Age Metals; and Kristie Tarr, director of green mining innovation–extraction at CanmetMINING.
On Sept. 13, junior miner New Age Metals will take participants on a tour of its River Valley property, a platinum group metals project.
Additional events include a career fair, live equipment and service demonstrations, and networking opportunities.
