The future of the Canada’s trading relationship with the U.S. and the world will be on the agenda of Peter Hall, vice-president and chief economist with Export Development Canada, when he speaks in Sudbury, May 30.

With so much government policy uncertainty, Hall will examine if Canadian businesses can expect a more restrictive cross-border trade environment and whether a period of financial market volatility will follow.

Hall will address if Canada will hike interest rates alongside the U.S. Federal Reserve, if Canadian trade with the U.K. will be impacted, and if commodity prices will rally or stay stuck at low levels for the long term.

He’ll will outline emerging markets over the next years, pinpoint the immediate risks facing the global economy, and identify key opportunities for Canadian exporters during these uncertain times.

In partnership with Northern Ontario Business, the event takes place in the lower hall at the Caruso Club, 385 Haig St., at 11:30 a.m. A buffet luncheon will be served.

The deadline for registration is May 23. Limited tickets are available. For details visit www.northernontariobusiness/lte or contact Lindsay Donnelly at 705-673-5705 ex. 362 or ldonnelly@nob.on.ca
