Under a new agreement signed by Cambrian College and energy technology company Honeywell, the school and the company will trade expertise in a mutually beneficial partnership.

Honeywell will provide consulting services to find ways to reduce expenses and greenhouse gas emissions at the school, while Cambrian will provide training for Honeywell’s building technicians.

School president Sylvia Barnard said the agreement would allow the college to reduce its operating costs, save energy, and maintain its facilities in an environmentally sustainable manner.

“By entering into this agreement, Honeywell will gain from our experience and strength in technical training and business education,” Barnard said in a news release. “We’ll work with the company’s employees as they continue to upgrade their skills and credentials to support Honeywell’s business goals.”

Luis Rodrigues, vice-president of energy and environmental solutions for Honeywell Building Solutions, said the partnership would help give the company a competitive advantage.

Cambrian College has the technical expertise and established curriculum Honeywell needs to nurture our talented staff,” he said. “Through this agreement, we can also apply our experience working with dozens of colleges across the country to help Cambrian operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.”
