Export forum to take place in Sudbury June 27

Mining service and supply companies are being encouraged to attend the Northern Ontario Exports Forum, a one-day event designed to help companies seeking to expand their export capabilities.

The event will be held on June 27 in Sudbury and is geared toward Northern Ontario companies that want to participate in peer-to-peer discussions on select mining markets and get insight from featured guest speakers.

Alicia Woods, general manager of Marcotte Mining Machinery Services, will serve as forum chair.

Featured guest speakers confirmed to date include:

  • Robert Assabgui, vice-president for Manitoba, Hudbay
  • Darren Bowden, CEO and president, Minesa SA (Colombia)
  • Víctor de la Cruz, manager of mining unit San Rafael, Minsur SA (Peru)
  • Sydney Hay, president of Arizona Mining Industry Get Our Support (AMIGOS)
  • Alec Morrison, president and CEO of the Mining Suppliers Association of B.C., and strategic advisor of the Mining Association of B.C.
  • Dan Neff, president of M3 Engineering & Technology Corporation, and chair of the board of AMIGOS
  • Bill Shaver, chief operating officer of INV Metals (Ecuador)

In addition, delegates are invited to attend up to three export market access exchanges throughout the day with insightful discussions on current and future mining markets including as confirmed to date, southwestern United States, Chile, Mongolia, British Columbia, Peru, Australia, Africa, Argentina, Ecuador, and Colombia.

During breakout sessions, peers will exchange best practices and mining sector knowledge for the specific market.

There will also be networking opportunities during a variety of Export Club events.
