Business leaders and employees in the mining industry will have an opportunity to increase their awareness of safety and health issues within the industry during an upcoming conference.
The 2002 Mining Health and Safety Conference is aimed at promoting an exchange of ideas among mining communities. The annual event attracts industry leaders from across the nation, United States and from overseas, a spokesperson with the Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association says. Presentations will be made by Ontario mining companies on safety and health problems encountered in the industry and applied solutions. The event takes place April 17 to 19 at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Sudbury.
