Laurentian University will receive $1,527,803 in research and equipment grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) during the next academic year. Of this amount, $1,423,485 will go towards the funding of 45 research projects, while $104,318 will be divided among five equipment-grant recipients. The results of this year's funding competition are very encouraging since the University saw its NSERC research grants increase by 6.9 per cent from last year ($1,212,446).
