The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce honoured the accomplishments of some of the city's entrepreneurs and businesses at its annual Bell Business Excellence awards ceremony at the Caruso Club May 10.
The awards are sponsored by Bell. This year, the chamber received 58 nominations for the awards.
“Once again, we come together to recognize the unique talents and contributions of the entrepreneurs in our community,” Andre Dumais, chair of the Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release.
“Despite an increasingly challenging business climate, these individuals persist in their commitment and enthusiasm for a strong and diverse business environment, and for that, we thank them all.”
Northern Life publisher Abbas Homayed presented the local accounting firm Laberge, Venne and Partners with the Company of the Year award. The award was sponsored by Northern Life and Northern Ontario Business.

The chamber also presented Jim Marchbank, who recently retired as CEO of Science North, with a professional achievement award, and recognized Cambrian Ford for reaching its 100th year in business.
