Best in Sudbury residential construction feted

Zulich Homes was selected by its home building brethren in Sudbury as having the best custom-built new home.

SLV Homes took home five awards at the Sudbury & District Home Builders’ Association awards in October.

The Sudbury contractor won in the best new home category (between 1,600 and 2,500 square feet), best exterior renovation, best interior alternative space, best renovation over $100,000, and best bathroom or conversion.

Principle Contracting tied with Zulich Homes for best custom-built new home.

Zulich Homes also won for best kitchen in a new home, and best bathroom in a new home.

Dalron Construction received honours for best new home over 2,500 square feet, best new home under 1,600 square feet, and best condo or townhouse.

The Oct. 27 event was attended by Pierre Dufresne, president of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association.

Judging took place using a closed website and all entries were anonymous (no company names or identifying logos).

The criteria included: design components, floor plan, customer service, technology, innovation and creativity, function and curb appeal.

The president of the Sudbury & District Home Builders' Association, Louie Zagordo of SLV Homes said: “I am proud of the efforts of our professional members and congratulate all who entered the Residential Awards of Excellence on their achievements.”
