An undisclosed private development group is the new owner of the former Shell property on the Parry Sound waterfront. The sale of the 10-acre property closed in late October after months of negotiations between Shell and the buyers. Town officials believe the developer's plan should mesh nicely with their waterfront master plan concept. The developer must pick up the cost of the environmental cleanup according to the terms of sale. It's expected the owners will likely take advantage of a new tax incentive offered by the town to developers of brownfield property.
