Killarney Mountain Lodge, south of Sudbury, recently announced that they are appointing a new head chef starting this month.

Hanna Jo Clemens, who has been a long-standing member of the lodge's culinary staff, has been working in the restaurant industry for roughly ten years. A pastry chef by specialty, Clemens has gained valuable work experience as a line cook and sous chef in the field.

After graduating from George Brown College where she studied both pastry and culinary, Clemens joined the Killarney group of properties at The Sportman's Inn Resort and Marina in the summer of 2012. Thanks to an outstanding performance, she was soon recruited to work at the lodge.

Since 2015, Clemens has participated in Killarney's Chefs Across the Great Lakes exchange and completed a permanent residency.

She is also a musician and enjoys the opportunity to explore the wilderness in the area, which is about an hour south of Sudbury.

“It is with incredible pride that we announce the appointment of one of our prized employees to the position of head chef at Killarney Mountain Lodge,” said the lodge's general manager, Kelly McAree.

“We are both thrilled and confident that Hanna's ceaseless passion for food, her thousand-watt smile, and her infectious laugh will be greatly appreciated by all who have the pleasure of her company, and of course, all who enjoy what she creates in the kitchen this coming year.”
