Analysing the economic and environmental state of Northern Ontario is the focus of a symposium at North Bay's Canadore College next month. A Symposium on the Economy and Environment of the Blue Sky Region and Beyond, which takes place May 10 and 11, will focus on building sustainable communities in northeastern Ontario. Gord Miller, Ontario's environmental commissioner, Jim Lopez, vice-president of Tembec's forest resource management and Ontario Chief Justice Dennis O'Connor are among the list of guest speakers. The symposium is intended to provide a forum for the public and private sector, students and special interest groups to exchange views on community sustainability.
