Sunwing will return to North Bay’s Jack Garland Airport this winter, adding weekly service to Cayo Coco, Cuba to the service.

This marks the sixth year the airline has offered seasonal sun destination service from the airport.

The company said the service to Cayo Coco would operate on Wednesdays between Dec. 20, 2017 and March 21, 2018.

“We are excited to have Sunwing providing service to Cayo Coco in Cuba for North Bay and the surrounding region this year,” airport manager Jack Santerre said in a release.

“We encourage travellers to support and take advantage of this great service that facilitates their winter sun destination vacation.”

Cayo Coco is a popular Cuba destination, which includes white sand beaches, picturesque scenery, a coral reef that stretches over 10 kilometres, and the largest colony of pink flamingos in the world.

“We’re very pleased to be returning to North Bay for a sixth season,” said Andrew Dawson, president of tour operations, in the release.

“Cuba is perennially one of our most popular destinations and we’re delighted to be able to offer residents of North Bay access to one of its most attractive resort destinations this coming winter.”
