The City of North Bay and Northern Ontario Business (NOB) will be rolling out the red carpet on Oct. 3 to meet and greet the best and brightest risk-takers and success stories from across the region.
NOB is excited to welcome more than 500 attendees to the community for the Northern Ontario Business Awards, last held in North Bay in 2008, and to showcase its talent and attractions in the hospitality sector.
The strength of the awards applications are often a stepping stone for those firms and individuals to gain wider national and international recognition. The event will feature 10 winners along with the Union Gas Essay Scholarship winner.
“NOBA really is the Academy Awards of Northern Ontario,” NOB publisher Patricia Mills said in a news release. “Being a black-tie celebration of the North's entrepreneurial elite, it is also a back-slapping gathering of the region's business, community development and political movers and shakers.”
“This is the gathering place they come to once a year to meet old friends, but it's also an event where professional bonds and relationships are created,” she added. “I know of $1-million deals that happened at NOBA and successful business partnerships that have formed.”

The networking reception will be held at the aviation campus at Canadore College on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5:30-8 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 3, the awards gala dinner at 6:30 will be celebrated at Nipissing University, at the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre.

Individual tickets are $169.50 and corporate tables of eight are $1,356 (HST included). The price includes the networking reception, pre-gala reception, gala dinner with wine, awards ceremony and post-gala reception.
