North Bay and the surrounding towns have been added to the list of qualifying communities where small businesses can get help enhancing their online presence.

On Aug. 25, The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound announced small main street businesses in North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, Bonfield, Callander, and Mattawa will soon be able to apply for assistance through the Digital Main Street (DMS) initiative.

Trained students or recent graduates with strong technology and digital marketing skills will meet one on one with business owners to provide advice and guidance on how to promote, manage and maintain an effective online presence with the ultimate goal of growing their business.

The “Digital Service Squad” can help with anything from updating a website to learning social media to setting up business software like loyalty programs or point-of-sale systems.

Digital Main Street was launched by the Toronto Association of BIAs and the City of Toronto in 2016.

The program has since expanded to community BIAs across Ontario.
