Thunder Bay CEDC announces new natural resources business development manager

THUNDER BAY — June 9, 2022: Eric Zakrewski, CEO of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC), is pleased to announce that Andrew Kane has joined the management team as Manager, Natural Resources Business Development.

“This is a newly created role within the CEDC that builds off our past success supporting growth in the mining sector. Our focus going forward is to both maintain the services we provide to exploration, production and service and supplies companies in the mining sector, while expanding our focus to provide more support to other sectors such as Forest Products and manufacturing,” says Zakrewski.

“Andrew is a dynamic and energetic professional who brings a wealth of private and public sector experience to the CEDC and I know he will provide industry with strong support as businesses seek to expand or locate in Thunder Bay around our natural resource-based economy."

Andrew is a well respected and knowledgeable professional in the Natural Resources sector. For most of his career, he worked for Confederation College in various positions. Most recently, he worked for the Provincial Ministry of Northern Development of Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry in the Mines and Minerals Division as a Mineral Exploration and Mine Development Consultant.

Growing up in Thunder Bay, Andrew has a strong passion for the North. Through his work in economic development, he looks forward to strengthening the natural resource sector in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
