Geraldton residents will soon be able to fly to Thunder Bay.

Bearskin Airlines will be offering air passenger service from Geraldton to Thunder Bay. Greenstone’s acting Mayor Jamie McPherson said the flights are going to come from Thunder Bay to Geraldton and back.

“They’re going to link up with scheduled flights that Air Canada has come in to Thunder Bay so you can get from Geraldton to Thunder Bay to Toronto or from Thunder Bay to Toronto up to Geraldton, and they will connect together."

McPherson said in an interview with CFNO. McPherson adds having the regional airline provide scheduled air service will be a definite asset for the municipality by providing more tourism opportunities, service the new mine and assist with bringing in locums to the hospital.

Just south of Geraldton is the site of construction of Equinox Gold's Greenstone open-pit gold mine.
