New air boss for Sudbury airport

Todd Trip is the new CEO of the Greater Sudbury Airport. After a national search to find a successor to the retiring Bob Johnston, the Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation announced Tripp’s appointment on Sept. 15.

Todd Trip is the new CEO of the Greater Sudbury Airport.

After a national search to find a successor to the retiring Bob Johnston, the Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation announced Tripp’s appointment on Sept. 15.

Tripp has more than 35 years of experience in airline and airport management in operations, strategic planning, labour relations and infrastructure development.

He spent almost two years as manager of the Sioux Lookout airport between December 2009 and October 2011.

“Mr. Tripp brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in aviation to his new position of CEO,” said Dr.

Bish Bora, chair of the airport’s board of director, in a statement. “We are confident that Todd’s experience and leadership will successfully lead the Greater Sudbury Airport through its next phase of evolution,”

“I look forward to working with the airport’s exceptional team and will continue to build on recent

momentum to create an airport that our community can be proud of,” said Tripp in a release.

Tripp worked as Air Canada’s general operations manager between 1979 and 2006, and most recently has worked on safety, security and special projects for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
