Manitoulin Global Forwarding has made its first foray onto U.S. soil with the acquisition of N/J International.

The Houston, Texas-headquartered company is a global supply chain provider of fully integrated transportation and logistics solutions covering air and sea freight, warehousing, crating, distribution and supply chain management. It’s been in operation since 1982.

“N/J International complements our own service capabilities in the Canadian market. Manitoulin has become a trusted brand in Canada and for many years has been at the forefront of servicing some of the top global companies,” Dwayne Hihn, president of Manitoulin Global Forwarding, said in a Nov. 13 news release.

“Adding N/J International to the Manitoulin family was a natural choice given the strong business ties between Texas and Alberta and our countries in general. By combining our resources, capabilities, and relationships, Manitoulin is now positioned as the premier provider to the oil and gas and project sector on both sides of the border."

The company said the acquisition contributes to Manitoulin’s “one-stop shop” for transportation and logistics needs across Canada and around the world.

This most recent announcement comes on the heels of the Nov. 7 news that Manitoulin Transport had acquired Québec-based Express Havre St-Pierre (EHSP).

Manitoulin Global Forwarding is a member of the family-owned and -operated Manitoulin Group of Companies, headquartered in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island.
