Cambrian College in Sudbury is set to offer five new programs in the fall of 2020.

The new programs will include massage therapy, addictions and mental health, occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant, computer programming (internet of things), and supply chain management.

The college said they are introducing these programs in response to market demand.

“Our students have told us that these are the programs of interest for them, and what they would like to study,” said Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian's vice-president, academic, in a news release.

Massage Therapy, occupational and physiotherapist assistant, and computer programming (internet of things) are being offered as diploma programs.

Addictions and mental health and supply chain management are graduate certificates designed for students who have already completed a university or college degree. Graduate certificates build on theory-based education by by providing practical, hands-on experience in the field and usually include a placement component.

Since 2018, Cambrian College has added 14 programs to its offering, half of which are graduate certificates.

Applications for the new programs are now open, and Cambrian invites the community to its Fall Open House on Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
