The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) is marketing the northwestern Ontario city as a landing spot for newcomers.

Appealing to a greater global audience is the focus in a new GoToThunderBay.ca website and promotional video launched this week as part of a revamped branding and marketing exercise process started earlier this year.

In a news release, the CEDC said Thunder Bay has evolved and diversified, both economically and as a community.

The new website, the commission said, reflects that in marketing the city as "modern, balanced and entrepreneurial" as northwestern Ontario's commercial hub.

“Now more than ever, we recognize the need to grow our city and recruit new professionals and investors to fill job vacancies, open and buy businesses, and start families," said commission CEO Eric Zakrewski in a statement.

“GoToThunderBay.ca and the new promotional video will be used to tell the world about the abundance of opportunities our city can offer newcomers.”
