Coleman and Creighton mines are being prepared to operate at full production, according to media reports.

Ore from both operations is needed to feed the now active smelter in Copper Cliff, says Steve Ball, Vale Inco spokesperson.

Coleman and Garson mines are currently at limited production.

Vale Inco reportedly said they want to staff the sites with as many local workers as possible, though workers from outside of the Greater Sudbury area may be employed.

The strike between members of the United Steelworkers Local 6500 and Vale Inco is nearing eight months in length. Neither side has returned to the table to talk during this time.
