The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund will invest $3,047,000 to complete the restructuring of the Ontario Prospectors Association (OPA) into a modern, professionally staffed association to serve the prospecting community. In November 200 the province provided nearly $1 million as the first phase of a $4-million investment towards restructuring.

The funds will allow the OPA to partner with industry to leverage more investments in prospective, grassroots mineral exploration opportunities. The exploration sector injects more than $120 million annually into Ontario's economy.
