Manitou Gold is switching up its executive leadership.

On Jan. 30, the Sudbury-based junior mining company announced its president, Pat Dubreuil, was stepping down from the position, effectively immediately.

Instead, Dubreuil will take on the role of vice-president of community and First Nations engagement.

Richard Murphy, the current chief executive officer and a director of the company, will replace him.

In addition, the company announced the appointment of Donato Sferra as vice-president of corporate development.

Sferra is a managing partner of Hillcrest Merchant Partners, and has an extensive background in the financial services industry spanning two decades.

Finally, the company announced Blair Zaritsky has been appointed as a director of the company. Zaritsky, a chartered professional accountant with more than 15 years of experience, principally in the mining sector, currently serves as chief financial officer at O3 Mining and Osisko Mining.

His appointment coincides with the resignation of Craig Stanley, who has stepped down from the board of directors to pursue other interests.

The changes come following an early January announcement that Manitou Gold had raised $3 million via flow-through shares to conduct exploration activities at its Goudreau gold project north of Wawa.

Exploration activity will consist of a 1,300-metre drill program and airborne magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical surveys to better delineate the extent of the mineralization.
