During the fourth quarter, refined nickel production totalled 27,058 tonnes compared with 27,387 tonnes from the same quarter a year ago. For the year,
refined nickel production of 104,410 tonnes was a new record for Falconbridge, compared to 91,833 tonnes in 2002.
At Nickel Rim South, additional surface drilling continues to define the resource. The total estimate at the deposit is 11.7 million tonnes, grading 1.6 per cent nickel and 3.7 per cent copper.
