April was a good drilling month for diamond hunters KWG Resources and Spider Resources with the discovery of three kimberlites on their McFadyen property in the James Bay lowlands.

The partners announced in late April evidence of a third kimberlite about eight kilometres north of De Beers Canada’s proposed Victor diamond mine project near Attawapiskat. The kimberlite was intersected at a depth of 105 metres, increasing the total number of kimberlites discovered in their winter drilling program to five.

The ground west of Attawapiskat has become a prime exploration ground for junior miners. The Spider-KWG find increases the total number of announced kimberlites in the Attawapiskat cluster to 21.
