Gincor Werx has been named one of Canada’s Top-Growing Companies for the third consecutive year.

Out of 448 companies from across Canada to land among the national rankings, the Mattawa-based truck manufacturer came in at number 412, achieving 64 per cent revenue growth over the last three years.

In 2020, the company reported between $50 million and $75 million in revenue, employing 267 people across divisions.

Gincor is the only company from Northern Ontario to make the list.

Luc Stang, Gincor’s president and CEO, celebrated the achievement in a news release.

“We are very pleased to be ranked as one of Canada’s top-growing companies by the Globe and Mail for a third consecutive year, especially given the difficult times we are all experiencing. We are certainly pleased to be able to say we are still experiencing steady growth,” Stang said in the Sept. 24 release.

“It is truly a testament to our valued customers that their confidence in our product has never waned and our employees continue to show tenacity to work hard and produce the best results possible.”

Gincor manufactures vocational trucks and specialized trailers for use in construction, municipal, and other industries.

Tracing its origins back to 1978 with the launch of Gingras Corriveau welding and fabrication shop, Gincor has since expanded to seven facilities occupying 378,000 square feet of manufacturing space, including 55 installation bays and 18 service bays.

It remains a family-owned business: it was Stang's uncle, Bob Corriveau, who cofounded the company with three partners more than four decades ago.

Launched in 2019, Canada’s Top Growing Companies is an initiative of the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine.

It aims to celebrate entrepreneurial achievement in Canada by identifying and amplifying the success of growth-minded, independent businesses in Canada.

A voluntary program, companies had to complete an in-depth application process in order to qualify.

“As we look toward the future, Canada’s Top Growing Companies offer both inspiration and practical insights for other firms facing similar challenges,” James Cowan, editor of Report on Business magazine, said in the release. “The entrepreneurs behind these companies are smart, tenacious and unwavering in their commitment to their goals.”
