FedNor funds “green” up conference centre

The Elk Lake Eco Resource Centre received $291,420 from FedNor to enhance its facilities and undertake new marketing activities. The centre features conference rooms, dining facilities, and overnight accommodations.

The centre features conference rooms, dining facilities, and overnight accommodations. It caters to a variety of clients including business, educational institutions, visitors and local residents.

Rick Brassard, chairman of the centre, said the money is earmarked for “greening our main building and cabins, and together with some new educational packages that we've developed for niche markets, we will be able to broaden our appeal and expand our business, ultimately achieving sustainability.”
