Nominations are now being accepted for the second annual Wood WORKS! Awards program, which honours renewable resource achievements. The awards competition is an opportunity for the industry and the community to honour excellence in the commercial use of wood, says Marianne Berube, provincial project manager for Wood WORKS!
"The forest products industry is one of the main economic engines of Ontario," Berube says. "Building with wood contributes to the economic prosperity of the province by supporty 40 forestry dependent communities and 92,000 direct jobs."
Awards are presented in 11 different categories ranging from an Architect Award to a Value Added Award.
Wood WORKS! is a national, industry-led initiative, spearheaded by the Canadian Wood Council to promote the increased use of wood in commercial, industrial and institutional construction.
