Immigration and its implications for Sudbury will be the focus of the 2024 Greater Sudbury Immigration Summit taking place on March 21 in the city.

The theme of the one-day event is ‘International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination,’ an annual observance celebrated around the globe on that day.

Hosted by the Sudbury Local Immigration Partnership, the event will feature guest speakers, an interactive panel discussion, workshop sessions, and networking opportunities with community partners throughout the day.

The day’s keynote address will be delivered by Sharyne Williams, a program advisor with Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

During the panel discussion, participants will hear from educational and public health officials on the topic of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

The Local Immigration Partnership is a federal initiative of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada that supports the development of community-based partnerships to address the needs of newcomers.
