Film will be the focus of an Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) regional conference in North Bay next month.

How to build a “film-ready community” will be on agenda of the EDCO northern regional event June 19 and 20, a topic the City of North Bay is very familiar with. Some insight and strategies will be provided by Ontario film commissioner Justin Cutler and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli, provincial economic development minister.

Cutler and Fedeli will share their views on the importance of the film industry as a strong and viable economic contributor to Ontario’s economy and on the growth and evolution of Northern Ontario’s film industry.

The Grande Event Centre in downtown North Bay will host panel discussions of industry reps to discuss strategies for attraction productions, how to nurture local talent, and enhancing infrastructure to become a destination for filmmakers.

Included in the agenda is a look behind the scenes of a local film set tour to connect with industry insiders.

Fairfield Inn & Suites on Eloy Road is the host hotel.
