The Northeastern Ontario Construction Association (NOCA) has new leadership.

As of Dec. 5, Mark Kivinen is taking the reins of the organization as executive director, while former vice-president Malcolm Croskery becomes president of the board.

Croskery brings 27 years of industry experience to the role. He's the current chief operating officer at Pioneer Construction and Fisher Wavy, a position he's held for the last seven years.

Kivinen has worked in construction for two decades and has served as branch manager of AlumaSafway for 17 years.

An NOCA board director for six years, Kivinen is also a director with the Construction Labour Relations Association of Ontario.

He began his term as NOCA president on June 16.

In operation since 1948, the NOCA is an advocacy group supporting the industrial, commercial and institutional construction (ICI) sector in northeastern Ontario.

Its members include contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, consulting firms, training, and personnel providers that are active in the industry.

NOCA liaises with local, provincial and federal governments to inform and influence comprehensive construction laws for Northern Ontario contractors.
