Applications are now being accepted for two provincial funding streams designed to promote economic opportunities for Indigenous communities.

Announced on Nov. 10, the province said it's making available $9.2 million through the Indigenous Economic Development Fund (IEDF) and the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP).

Under the IEDF, funding will be provided for skills training and economic development projects that diversify Indigenous economies. A total of $3.2 million is available.

Under the ICCGP, $6 million is available for infrastructure projects that support the planning, renovation or construction of buildings in First Nations and Métis communities and Indigenous organizations on- and off-reserve.

Applications for these two funding streams will be accepted until Dec. 19.

Details about registration and how to apply are available at the program websites.
