Scalable and robust, we designed an appliance that houses all of a business' telecommunication needs in one device. Founded in Sudbury, Ontario as a software development firm in 2009, Sunwire was able to achieve early success by developing a state-of-the-art, fully customizable and scalable IP-based business phone system – the SolSwitch.
In 2012, Sunwire celebrated the release of SolSwitch version 2.0 and won the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce’s Business Start-Up Excellence Award. In 2014, high-speed business internet was added as a service offering to complement existing telephone services.
Shortly thereafter, in 2016, Sunwire expanded its phone and internet offerings to the residential market in the Greater Sudbury area. Later that year, services were expanded throughout many other Northern Ontario Communities.
By 2018, Sunwire Inc. had acquired Northern Voice & Data Inc., a leading IT firm, expanded its service area to Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area and its SolSwitch phone system had processed its 1 billionth telephone call.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunwire was able to launch its mobile and desktop solution in May of 2020.SolSwitch Connect allows users to call, chat and share with clients and colleagues any time and on any device.
Today, Sunwire is a leader in providing telecommunication services to businesses as well as internet, phone and TV services to homes across Ontario.
