Xstrata appoints new ops boss for Sudbury

Marc Boissonneault is Xstrata Nickel's new operations vice-president in Sudbury. He succeeds Mike Romaniuk who moves to Toronto as the company's vice-president of strategic projects.

He succeeds Mike Romaniuk who moves to Toronto as the company's vice-president of strategic projects.

Boissonneault has almost 20 years experience working his way up through the ranks of the former Falconbridge operations in Timmins and Sudbury.

The McMaster and Queen's University grad has made stops at Kidd Metallurgical Division beginning as a production engineer in 1989 before shifting to Sudbury to lead the development of process technologies for strategic projects. He was appointed director of the Sudbury smelter in 2006.
