Wardrop Engineering, one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, hailed by Mcleans magazine, has been acquired by Tetra Tech Inc. from Pasadena California.
The purchase allows Tetra to expand its worldwide presence in the natural resource and energy sectors by adding 13 offices in Canada and offices in the United Kingdom and India.
“This combination has enhanced our collective natural resource management capabilities and has effectively doubled our capabilities in nuclear energy and electrical transmission,” says Dan Batrack Tetra Tech's Chairman and CEO.
“This geographic expansion into Canada also opens a new growth market for Tetra Tech's water capabilities.”
Wardrop has 1,200 employees globally and revenues of approximately (US) $120 million in fiscal 2008.
“With access to Tetra Tech's construction management and self performance capabilities, we can now provide full turn-key solutions,” says Shayne Smith CEO of Wardrop.
This marks the largest transaction in engineering and consulting history between Canada and United States firms.
