The Two Feathers Forest Products project in northwestern Ontario has received $3.6 million in training dollars from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
The money, coming from the Northern Training Partnership Fund, is earmarked to prepare 240 Aboriginal residents in the Dryden area for future forestry jobs.
There will be apprenticeship training and on-the-job technical training to prepare people for jobs as process operators in a fledgling First Nation forestry company. The project partners are Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, the Wood Tech Group of Finland, Seven Generations Institute and Confederation College.
