The United Steelworkers (USW) have agreed to a three-year contract at Goldcorp's Porcupine Gold Mines in Timmins.
In an Oct. 31 statement, Wayne Fraser, USW Ontario/Atlantic director, says the 276 unionized workers have ratified the contract which includes a four-per-cent wage increase in each of the three years for a 12 per cent total.
The deal also includes an increased monthly defined pension plan payment and improvements to benefits , improved job security and bargaining-unit work protection.
"We look forward to Goldcorp bringing new operations on line in the community in the near future, which will benefit employees, as well as the community as a whole," said USW staff representative Myles Sullivan in a statement.
