Environmental departments are preparing their entries ready for the second annual Tom Peters Memorial Reclamation Award. Last year's winner was the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines for its work on the Kam Kotia property in the Timmins area.

Environmental departments are preparing their entries ready for the second annual Tom Peters Memorial Reclamation Award.
Last year's winner was the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines for its work on the Kam Kotia property in the Timmins area.
The purpose of the program is to encourage the pursuit of excellence in mine reclamation and to recognize and promote outstanding achievements in mine reclamation.
For eligibility purposes, under the broad focus of mine reclamation, the general categories of exploration, mine development, progressive rehabilitation and mine closure can be represented. The work of an individual, or a group, can be recognized. The award subcommittee when judging entries will be looking for quality of research, innovation, effectiveness of the work, measurable outcomes and the promotion of mine reclamation.
