Lake Shore Gold is posting high grade intercepts at its Thunder Creek project in Timmins.
The Toronto miner said a 22,000-metre diamond drill program adjacent to its operating mine has produced one result of 8.86 grams per tonne gold over 24.85 metres and 10.88 g/t over 4.05 metres.
Lake Shore said these intercepts extend gold mineralization in its Rusk and Porphyry zones at depth and along strike.
Company president/CEO Tony Makuch called the results "extremely encouraging" and the discovery of multiple gold horizons adds "meaningfully to the size and resource potential of the project."
Makuch said the results serve to highlight the potential of the un-mined portion of the Timmins gold camp to the west of the Mattagami River Fault, "an area that we believe represents an important new chapter to this legendary mining camp."
