Construction permits for the foundation and parking garages for the hotel and two condominiums at Prince Arthur’s Landing were issued by the City of Thunder Bay to Manshield Construction.

“We are very pleased to see this development get underway, with completion planned over the next few years,” said city councillor Mark Bentz, chair of the Waterfront Development Committee, in a Jan. 23 statement.

The development consists of a Delta hotel, two 51-unit condominiums, a commercial building for shops and restaurants, and redevelopment of the historic CN Station. The hotel is expected to create approximately 110 jobs, and is slated to open in early 2014.

“This development at Prince Arthur's Landing represents a $65 to $70 million dollar investment in our community by the private sector and will generate significant employment opportunities and local spending,” said Bentz.
