Thunder Bay miner MetalCorp have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pic Mobert First Nation to continue exploration activities on the band's traditional lands in northwestern Ontario.

Thunder Bay miner MetalCorp have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pic Mobert First Nation to continue exploration activities on the band's traditional lands in northwestern Ontario.
The agreement includes an effort to provide opportunities for local employment, contracting and other involvement for members and businesses of the First Nation community and other Firsts Nations in the area.
In a Jan. 28 statement, Pic Mobert Chief Jeffrey Desmoulin said the MOU "reflects the mutual respect" between the two parties in building a strong relationship to realize the benefits from mineral exploration.
MetalCorp president and CEO Donald Sheldon said his company is focused and committed to northwestern Ontario and has "always accepted responsibility for strong community relations."
MetalCorp is exploring more than 65,000 acres in the North including base metal prospects along the north shore of Lake Superior.
