Two Thunder Bay area businesses are receiving provincial grants from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
With $39,500 in hand, the Whitefish Roadhouse in Nolalu will be renovating and upgrading with new kitchen equipment and furnishings. The restaurant employs six full-time staff and three part-time.
More money is heading to Nolalu's Katrina Hurzeler's Commercial Ceramic Kiln operation where she is getting $25,000.
“Small businesses remains the bedrock of our economy and it is always nice to see more people starting up new enterprises,” said Mauro.
Huzeler said receiving provincial support for a gas-fired kiln “will be the last and biggest piece missing in my puzzle.”
