Superior Helicopters awarded two-year Ontario MNR contract

Superior Helicopters Canada Inc. has been awarded a two-year contract with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), according to a Feb. 17,, 2011 company press release. Superior Helicopters is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Discovery Air Inc.

Superior Helicopters is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Discovery Air Inc.’s Great Slave Helicopters Ltd., a specialty aviation services company that currently has forest fire contracts in Alberta, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories and provides back-up support in British Columbia and the Yukon.

The latest contract is for three Bell medium helicopters for aviation, forest fire and emergency services in Northern Ontario, with the machines based in Wawa, Chapleau and Cochrane. The contract will span two seasons commencing April 1, 2011 until March 31, 2013. The new contract will result in a minimum annual revenue of about $1.5 million.
