Laurentian University's MIRARCO mining research institute will host a mine ventilation symposium in Sudbury for 2010.
The 13th U.S./North American Mine Ventilation Symposium runs June 13-17 and is expected to attract 200 to 300 experts from industry, academia and government specializing in the area of operational and health issues associated with ventilation in deep mining.
Participants will take short courses and hear about ventilation research on such subjects as cooling, controlling diesel emissions and automatic mine ventilation.
It's only the second time the symposium has been held in Canada since Kingston and Queen's University hosted it in 2002.
